Mexican Made Spa Bundle.
Treat yourself or a loved one to a decadent spa day with a curated selection of handmade works from various groups in Mexico. This bundle includes a vegetable sponge, a backstrap-woven exfoliating cloth and crocheted soap bag that are both made with hand spun agave string that’s done with a drop spindle. The set also includes a rounded pumice stone, as well as a gorgeous bar of handmade soap that’s comprised of red and green clay. These bundles are biodegradable and vegan-friendly, as they do not contain animal products of any kind. Every piece is assembled by hand and tied with agave string.
Makers of these pieces include groups from Mexico State, Oaxaca and Hidalgo. These artisans name their own prices and timelines. The sponges are sourced from long gourds that grow in abundance in Oaxaca and beyond.
Approximately 10cm wide x 17cm long
The soap features an expiry date, as they’re best to use by this time. The cloth and soap bag can be washed in washing machine and hung to dry. As the cloth is open weave, it will soften and shrink substantially after the first use in water. When the lifespan is over for these pieces, they can be added to a compost pile to degrade naturally, as they do not contain chemicals. The soap bags can be hung in the shower, and small soap bits can gradually be added, so as to minimize waste from other bars in future.
The price is for a single package that included the featured products. Due to the traditional processes and materials, the details, hues and finishes will vary slightly from piece to piece.
